2025 in Review

As we look back on the blessings of 2025, we do it with much gratitude.  We had many highlights of how we came together as a congregation in celebration and worship, sharing our light and love of Our Lord.

The year began with mother nature giving us more snow than we care to remember and had us worshipping only via Facebook Live a few times.  Deacon Karen C. was interviewed by WMDT for their “Our Town” Revisited 20 years later segment, which aired in early February.

We celebrated the youth of Snow Hill High School by attending the Senior Baccalaureate Event and awarded Senior MaryAnn R. with a scholarship to further her education.  We also had fun learning more about each other’s pets; from cats to dogs, to bunny rabbits our love of our animals is apparent.

The summer brought us worship at Gunby Presbyterian Church in Stockton and at Sturgis Park.  We celebrated McKinley and Piper M. being baptized at Sturgis Park and a formerly loved “new to us” organ for Gunby.  The Annual Blessing of the Combines is always so much fun and this year certainly did not disappoint.  Our volunteers worked hard and enjoyed being in the community serving slices of cool, delicious watermelon.  The weather was simply amazing and everyone had a wonderful day!

Fall found us out and about at the Annual Track or Treat event at the Worcester County Recreation Center.  We got to share 300+ slices of pizza at the Church on Halloween night!

Our year wrapped up with our Advent series, “The Bright Star of Bethlehem”.  We served over 100 families at the Annual Wilson Memorial Food Box distribution.  As in years past, we enjoyed the volunteers of Snow Hill High School JROTC, Beta and NHS helping us haul the supplies and packing the boxes.  It is heartwarming to witness the youth come together.

The Annual Holiday Concert was breathtaking as we were “Traveling to Bethlehem,” through song, scripture and music to the stable.  The sanctuary was filled with a joyous noise, and we are grateful to our Choir and all our guest singers.

Looking forward to 2026 we are excited to continue our mission and to share the light of our Lord with our community and the world.
